About this product
Women's Summer Satin Pyjamas
A two piece satin set for warm nights: a short sleeve top that buttons all the way down, and shorts with a soft elasticated waist.
The fabric is a viscose satin, 95% viscose with 5% spandex. Viscose comes from wood pulp, so it breathes more like a natural fibre than the polyester satin most sets at this price use.
Four colours and three sizes, with a notch collar and a chest pocket on the top and a short inseam on the shorts.

Got questions?
Frequently Asked Questions
What is in the set?
Two pieces: a short sleeve top and matching shorts.
Is this real silk?
No. Satin is a weave rather than a fibre. This set is 95% viscose with 5% spandex, and our mulberry silk pyjamas are the real fibre at a much higher price.
What is viscose?
A fibre made from wood pulp. It is not synthetic in the way polyester is, and it breathes noticeably better, which is why it is a sensible choice for a summer set.
Is viscose better than polyester satin?
For a hot sleeper, usually yes. Viscose absorbs moisture rather than repelling it, so it feels cooler against skin than the polyester satin used in most bedding sets on this site.
What does the spandex do?
5% spandex gives the fabric a little give, so the set moves with you rather than pulling at the shoulders when you turn over.
Are the bottoms shorts or trousers?
Shorts, with roughly a three inch inseam. The winter set is the long sleeved, full length version.
Does the top have pockets?
One chest pocket. The shorts have no pockets.
What sizes do you sell?
L, XL and XXL in all four colours.
Do the sizes run true?
They run to the chart on this page rather than to a European or UK standard. Measure across the bust on something you already own before choosing.
Why is the XXL a different price?
It uses more fabric and the warehouse prices it separately. It is EUR 79 against EUR 69 for the other two sizes.
Which colours are there?
Black, pink, red and white.
Do you still sell the blue?
No. It was out of stock and has no stock behind it, so we took it off rather than list something we cannot send.
Is the white see through?
Satin is opaque enough for sleepwear in white, but it is the lightest of the four. If that matters to you, the black or the red are the safe choices.
Can I machine wash it?
Yes, cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent and no bleach. Wash it inside out.
Does viscose shrink?
It can if you wash it hot, more readily than polyester will. Cold water and line drying keep it the size you bought.
Can it go in the tumble dryer?
Better not. Hang it to dry. Viscose is weaker when wet and heat is what shrinks it.
Does it need ironing?
Sometimes, more than polyester satin does, because viscose creases. Iron on the reverse at a cool setting.
Does the colour run?
Give the black and the red their own first wash. After that they are fine with similar colours.
Will it pill?
Less than polyester does. The thing to watch with viscose is snagging rather than pilling.
Is it good for hot sleepers?
It is the better of our two satin fabrics for that, because viscose absorbs moisture. Real silk still does it better, and costs more.
Is it hypoallergenic?
We make no such claim.
Can I wear the top on its own?
Plenty of people do, with the shorts swapped for something else. A notch collar and a chest pocket read as a shirt.
Is it a good gift?
Yes, and it is one of the most gifted items in the women's range. The 14 day return right covers a size swap.
Can I have it embroidered?
Yes. Embroidery and monogramming is a separate item on this site and is added to the same order.
How much is delivery?
Free on orders over EUR 75, which the XXL clears on its own. Below that, delivery is EUR 25.
How long does delivery take?
Allow 5 to 7 days across Europe once your order is on its way.
Can I return it?
Yes, 14 days from delivery to change your mind under EU consumer law, unworn and in resaleable condition.
What if it arrives faulty?
Tell us and we will replace or refund it. That is separate from the change of mind right and is not limited to 14 days.
Do you sell a matching robe?
There is a women's satin robe on this site in white, black and pink, in four sizes.
Do you sell in bulk?
Yes, there is a wholesale page, and it is worth contacting us directly for quantities.

A summer set, in viscose satin
Short sleeve top, matching shorts. The top buttons all the way down and has a
notch collar and a chest pocket. The shorts sit on a soft elasticated waist with
a short inseam, about three inches, so they stay out of the way when you move.
Four colours, black, pink, red and white, in L, XL and XXL. The XXL is EUR 79
rather than EUR 69 because the warehouse prices it separately. Sizing follows the
chart on this page rather than a national standard, so measure across the bust
before choosing.
The fabric is worth understanding
Satin is a weave, not a fibre, which means two satin sets can be made of
completely different things. This one is 95% viscose with 5% spandex. Viscose is
made from wood pulp, so it absorbs moisture rather than repelling it, and that is
the reason it feels cooler against skin than the polyester satin used in the
bedding sets on this site. The spandex is there for movement, not for shape.
It is still not silk. Real mulberry silk breathes better again and lasts
longer, and the price reflects it. What this set gives you is the closest thing
to that feel for under EUR 80.
Living with it
Wash it cold on a gentle cycle, inside out, with a mild detergent and no
bleach, and hang it to dry. The one thing to know about viscose is that it does
not like heat: hot water shrinks it and a hot dryer will do it faster. It creases
more readily than polyester too, so a cool iron on the reverse is worth keeping
handy.
Give the black and the red their own first wash. If you want the same look in
a long sleeved set for winter, the
women's satin pyjama set is in the same part of the
shop.
A women's short sleeve satin pyjama set with shorts from Silk Pyjamas Europe, EUR 69 in L and XL and EUR 79 in XXL, in black, pink, red or white. The top buttons through with a notch collar and a chest pocket; the shorts have an elasticated waist and roughly a three inch inseam. The fabric is 95% viscose with 5% spandex woven as satin: it is NOT silk, but viscose is made from wood pulp and breathes better than the polyester satin used elsewhere in the range. Machine washable cold; viscose shrinks in hot water, so do not tumble dry. The blue colourway was discontinued for want of stock. Free delivery across Europe over EUR 75, 5 to 7 days, with the full 14 day EU right of withdrawal.
