Silky jammies
Whatever you call them, there are two kinds and the difference is worth knowing.
Silky jammies come in two forms, and shops are not always straight about which one they are selling you. Real silk is a natural fibre spun by silkworms. Satin is a weave, usually polyester, that copies the smooth surface and the sheen at a much lower price.
We sell both, and every page on this site says which it is in the specification.
The silk ones
A long women's mulberry silk pyjama set in four colours, a camisole and shorts set for summer, a men's silk pyjama set at 16 momme, and silk dressing gowns for both. Prices run from €139 to €239.
The satin ones
Satin pyjama sets from €69 and a satin negligee at €49: short sleeved with shorts for summer, long sleeved for winter, and robes in both ranges. The women's summer set is a viscose satin and the women's winter set is polyester. Where a supplier has not published the fibre, the page says so.
How to choose
If you want the natural fibre, buy silk. If you want the look for much less money, satin is a sensible buy and we would rather sell you the right one than the expensive one.
Common questions
Are silky jammies the same as silk pyjamas?
Only if they are actually made of silk. A lot of what is sold as silky is satin, which is a weave rather than a fibre. Check the specification rather than the product name, here and anywhere else.
How can I tell silk from satin?
The price is the biggest tell: real silk sleepwear costs several times what satin does. On our pages, the material line tells you outright, along with the momme weight where the supplier publishes it.
Which is cooler to sleep in?
We make no temperature claim for either. Silk is a natural fibre and satin is a weave, and each page states what the fabric is.
Are they machine washable?
Both are, cold and gentle. Silk wants a silk detergent, no bleach and no tumble drying. Satin is more forgiving but still dislikes heat.
Do you sell them for men?
Yes, in both fabrics: silk and satin pyjama sets, robes and silk boxer shorts, all in the men's section.
What is the cheapest way in?
The satin negligee at €49 or a satin pyjama set at €69. If you want to try real silk without spending much, a silk eye mask or a silk pillowcase is the usual first purchase.
Do they come as a gift?
Most of the range ships in standard packaging. The women's silk dressing gown arrives in a gift box, and embroidery is available at €11 per piece on the same order.
What sizes are there?
It varies by line and each page states its own range. Some listings sell a single size, and where the supplier's measurements are not published we say so on the page.
Will they make my hair or skin better?
We make no hair, skin, anti-ageing or medical claim for silk or for satin. Both feel smooth, and that is all we will say.
How much is delivery?
Free over €75, otherwise a flat €25. Allow up to 7 working days for delivery after dispatch within 2 working days across Europe.
Can I send them back?
Yes, 14 days from delivery under EU consumer law, unworn and in resaleable condition.
