Black is the practical colour in this range, and it is bought for two quite different reasons. The first is upkeep. If you use hair oil, leave-in conditioner, retinol or a heavy night cream, those transfer onto whatever your head rests on. On white silk they show as a faint bloom until the next wash. On black they do not show at all. People who buy black once tend to buy black again for that reason alone.
\nThe second reason is how it looks. Black silk is not the same as black cotton. Cotton absorbs light and reads flat, close to charcoal in a dim room.
